when the mood comes

Posted by: sugarnova on: December 30, 2007

when the mood comes, it just *shrugs* comes *giggles* the sisters and i are going shopping, again, tonight *sigh* what is to be of us.

dressing up is my happy pill :)

we are so bored, my sister and i.. we are checking out the other sister’s blog, right under her nose. and she has the cheek to call us kaypo. hello? define online ‘diary’.

read noridah’s sajak dalam berita minggu today. tanda tangan. it made me think. the might of the signature. sesuatu yang mudah namun membawa pengertian yang begitu dalam. sebuah janji. tak boleh lari. realiti kehidupan zaman ini. lebih-lebih lagi bagi mereka yang begitu mudah terjerat dalam penjara hutang kad kredit. tanda tangan to sign up for a card. tanda tangan bila nak buat ‘pembayaran’. mudah amat. tanda tangan. the one thing that we made up back when we were younger. eager to use our signatures as a way to show the world that ‘hey! this is my signature. it’s uniquely me’. tanda tangan. there’s more to that than just ink.

with the new grow 2.0 package, i think it’s a good time to sambung my masters. no turning back. no more hesitation. i shall apply for the postgrad once application opens. i dont think i have the energy to go up and down kl. local uni it’ll be for me. nevermind that my alma mater offers a direct doctorate route. i cant afford to let my career take a back seat again. do it while the fire is still burning strong. while the love for malay literature is deep rooted within. noridah doesnt know, but she’s one of the few people who makes me believe that we can go far with malay literature. we have never met. we share common friends though. i got in touch with this wonderful lady when i hoped to get her knowledge, expertise and assistance for my essay on puisi siber a year or two ago. unfortunately, the meet up wasnt possible due to packed schedules.

i dont write cerpen or sajak. neither am i active in churning out articles. however, i love research work. i love being drowned in academic books. i love everything about sastera melayu. i want to do more for literary research in this tiny island. furthermore, with moe’s introduction of malay literature as a humanities subject, i believe they need more people in this field. and i think it’s best to move forward before it gets too late and feel like i’m stuck in a rut. i dont plan on teaching in a secondary school throughout my career.

but first, i want to go shopping with the sisters :) and gelare waffles beckons *giggles*
